ABOUT ME

People fascinate me Full stop.

I love learning about people and I love helping people to move to a place in their lives where they are truly living, rather than just coasting through life holding out until it’s over.

When it comes down to it, there are small and remarkably simple changes in thinking and behavior, that if chosen on a daily basis, can lead to dramatic emotional, psychological and physiological shifts and transformation. Once you begin taking a few steps in the right direction, you’ll be surprised how far you can get.

My education followed my love of people and I received psychology undergraduate and honours degrees from Africa’s top tertiary institution, the University of Cape Town (UCT), as well as completing coaching courses, in both executive and life coaching, and counselling courses through the University of South Africa (UNISA), alongside extensive work in the addiction field (I’m passionate about understanding and unraveling all aspects of addiction).

I’ve always enjoyed expanding my life toolkit, (or read another way, I love a challenge) and as such have sought out a diverse career spanning several roles and sectors.

After my studies, I shifted my focus from psychology to the corporate world, working in Director positions in both Sales and Marketing in the telecoms, regulatory technology and big data fields. Later in my career I occupied several Executive Director positions.

I worked in the non-profit space as Program Director for a Stanford University initiative around scaling access to health education in Africa. I have worked closely with the former Prime Minister of Haiti for many years which has afforded me great exposure to the world of politics and government.

I’m a co-founder of an investment fund, investing in early stage startups and am passionate about the startup world and still consult within the startup space

I live by the science-backed mantra that looking after my physical health is the most important thing I can do for my mind and mental wellbeing – moving my body every day keeps me happy.

I am a yoga teacher, a runner, a South African Muay Thai Champion, a provincial basketball player, a boot camp instructor, I follow eastern philosophy and meditate daily.

Being a mom to three boys teaches me about life and myself, in ways I never imagined.

I really do love to challenge myself whenever I can and was a participant in a reality TV show, Survivor.
